If you can decipher that last clue, it's the key to the entire thing.

Obviously Ceasar. What do I win? Please don't say I have to start the next one.

Final answer?
GB confirmed his final answer over xfire.

The evidence:

The answer is Very obvIous if you look aT veRy closely. Understanding the eVents leadIng up to the murder is hAlf the battle, you kNow?

VITRUVIAN.
The Vitruvian Man is a famous drawing by Da Vinci, inspired by was Marcus Vitruvius Pollio a Roman writer, architect and engineer. All of this info can be found with a very quick wiki check ;)

A note was found at the scene of the crime, but it was partially obscured by blood.
It read: "-y na-e is G---i--or."

A well known line from the movie Gladiator "My name is Gladiator." This was the harder of the three "true" clues.

On the opposite side of the note "I can't understand: bmaaspes" was written.

b m a a s p e s
b....m....a....a....s....p....e....s
base. maps.
maps, in the word base.
"I dont understand maps in base."

Ceasar is your killer, ladies and gents.
GB can either make a story himself, or pawn the duties off onto some willing patron.
