I wasn't in the mood to debate this earlier, but, since they've shut down the SWTOR servers tonight and I had two naps today, I figured...what the hell...

I train with my firearms...I can DCOA my firearms...I have dummy rounds to simulate misfeeds/jams/FTFs...I have nightsights on my carry weapon...I have various lockboxes, chamber-locks, trigger-locks for stored weapons...I am a responsible firearms owner...I shoot more way more often than most police officers are required to...I review general safety rules and laws on a regular basis just on principle...I have a carry permit, fulfilling all of my state's requirements...and I'm a damn good shot for a dude with only one good eye.
AND...believe you me, if it's ME/MY LOVED ONES or THEM...it's gonna be THEM if I have anything to say about it.

She had left her gun in her car to comply with Texas state law at the time, which prohibited carrying a concealed weapon. When George Hennard drove his truck into the cafeteria and opened fire on the patrons, Hupp instinctively reached into her purse for her weapon, but it was in her vehicle. Her father, Al Gratia, tried to rush Hennard and was shot in the chest. As the gunman reloaded, Hupp escaped through a broken window and believed that her mother, Ursula Gratia, was behind her. Hennard put a gun to her mother's head as she cradled her mortally wounded husband, and pulled the trigger, killing her as well.
Hupp's mother and father were killed along with twenty-one other persons. Hennard also wounded some twenty others. As a survivor of the Luby's massacre, Hupp testified across the country in support of concealed-handgun laws. She said that if there had been a second chance to prevent the slaughter, she would have violated the Texas law and carried the handgun inside her purse into the restaurant.
I mean...I could go on with Columbine....VT...watUgot?
Moral of the story....MURDER is illegal...that doesn't stop people who want to do it....
Do you think that murderers really care about gun laws?
If you wanna be one of those 23 dudes leaving a nice lunch at Luby's in a body bag because you are "uncomfortable," then that's your choice, my friend.

Probably one of the most valuable skills I learned in self defense training is how to walk away. You might find it hard to believe with how belligerent I am online, but in person I have almost no ego. I've walked away from several fights specifically because of my training, which is pretty great, and I'd certainly be comfortable preventing people from hurting me if anybody was silly enough to actually put their hands on someone who isn't going to goaded into a fight anyway. I don't know if you were just being silly with the video or actually insinuating that gun training is more valuable than self defense training, but I'm certainly glad I have both.
If you're comfortable carrying around a gun and okay with the idea of killing people, that's great. I'm not. Maybe someday when I own my own house, and I don't have my father who has his gun to defend us if someone ever breaks in, I'll be okay with having one to defend my property. I'll never carry a weapon of any kind outside of my own home, though. Ever.
You can point to all of these awful things that happened and say to me, "If there was a gun there this never would have happened." You may be right, and that certainly justifies you to carry a gun. These things will never happen to you, you're right. Never. They will also very likely (read: almost certainly) never happen to me.
Unless you live in a high risk area, which I don't and will never, the chances of you being in a situation where your life is in danger and a gun will get you out of danger is less than one in one hundred thousand. Statistically you're more likely to die in a plane accident than die in a shooting (unless your lifestyle promotes the likelihood of being shot, which again, mine doesn't), and travel by airplane is largely considered one of the safest ways to travel.
Carrying a gun for "safety" is a little silly to me. Having the potential to kill people doesn't sound very safe to me. I don't know anybody (outside of the military) who has ever needed a gun for their own protection. Somebody in my family was held up at gunpoint once (they owned a convenience store at the time), but thankfully she was unharmed. Another person at another store three nights later wasn't so lucky. That didn't change the mind of my entire family about gun safety then, and so I see no reason to change my own stance now.

I am not even going to read all of what you just wrote, you will be a victim in and crime committed against you. Until you learn how to karate chop bullets out of the air, your training will be useless against an armed person.
With that being said this thread was to show my new purchase and to share my excitement with those interested. If you are anti gun or anti american rights then start a thread of your own and bash guns and america all you want. I do not believe you should be required to own a gun or believe that it is right or wrong to own a gun period, but i do own guns and i enjoy them. There is a great saying "it is better to have a gun and never need it, than to need a gun and not have one"
