Those who play windowed will agree, 4:3 sucks.

As I recall, some people managed to set custom resolutions to get around this inconvenience. Can anyone show me how?

To do this, you first do /r_mode -1. Then you pick your values for r_customheight and r_custom width. Then do a /vid_restart to make the changes happen.

Note: JKA doesn't really support widescreen. Yes you can force a 16:10 or other ratio, but it'll just be a stretched version of 4:3 and would therefore look the same if you were fullscreened. That's another reason why I stick to windowed on a widescreen monitor -- just means I can put other things next to my 4:3 window (IM, demo folder, etc). I prefer to not be oblivious to the rest of my computer while in the video game

The thing shulba posted is sil's mod, which actually adds more custom resolutions that you can pick from the graphics settings. Mostly a feature for those who are too lazy/stupid to just do what I outlined above.

sil is working on it so it doesnt look stretched anymore

but ppl barely notice or are used to it... i never noticed
