Re: In regards to applications

Post by GUARD!AN »

Nothing is changing piipe, it is like it used to be, I just wanted to highlight Magyk's point and say that in the event that someone will be a detriment to the long term growth of siege I will not hesitate to deny them.

Anima and Noah have been granted member rights.

Here is a fun game: How many drinks has Piipe had tonight?

On a more serious note, the reason I took exception to Anima's application was largely the double standard from one application to the next. (Chew/Others calling for a vote for Noah's application, but being totally fine with a "dictator" type acceptance when I brought up the prospect of a vote.)
I really don't have a problem with tensor, I learned to not take him seriously years ago.

I don't really understand the talk about not allowing people on the forum. Its not like by denying an application we are barring people from the servers, forums, or siege itself. We are simply saying they do not show qualities that are representative of rS, and as Guardian said in the original post bad qualities can be detrimental to the future of siege/rS. One jackass wearing rS tags can scare away three awesome future applicants, to put it in a blunt example.

Mike showed this to me last night:

Seems to ring true for almost everyone on this forum at some point or another, Magyk included. I'm not denying my involvement in the drama that took place before, but I'll be damned if I'm going to be pegged as the firestarter.

Piipe is right.
We can't always find out one's intentions. If that person is aliasing and protecting his personality well, then we cannot do anything about that. Or maybe can ban if that person is really annoying and destroying community.
But if someone is willing to play siege with us, then let's just trust them. We can always change our decision

One jackass in the app forum can do the same thing.

You missed the point of why inwas upset at your vote. Voting should be the entire community or nothing. It guards call, so he either dictates or there is an equal vote. You had it in your mind that only active siegers get a vote.

With that being said, I am happy with this decision. Thank you guard for clearing this up.
