Recent Tempest and Impulse Attacks

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the delay, but I have gotten to the bottom of the recent attacks on Tempest and Impulse.

Using a network protocol analyzer, I found there was a flood of requests, aka a DOS (Denial of Service) attack from the IP address 68.232.181.10:





A quick geolocation trace and ISP lookup reveals it is actually a corporation named Choopa that was attacking the servers:





Going to the website, they are a dedicated server provider that was attacking my custom built cloud (in what appears to be a ruse to sabotage all other servers in an attempt to drive traffic and customers to them)





I blocked their IP from making any requests to my cloud, and as for my next steps...luckily I have all kinds of numerous legal resources at my disposal lately
